An Update on the Monorail Weight Pocket Recall

What happened, how we fixed it, and what to do if you still need the free repair.

If you own a SCUBAPRO Monorail Weight Pocket, you've probably already heard from us about this. Earlier this year, we issued a voluntary recall for the Monorail Weight Pocket, and many of you have already contacted your SCUBAPRO shop for the free repair. This post offers a comprehensive resource for customers, explaining what happened, what we did about it, and how to get the repair if you haven't yet.

What happened

The Monorail Weight Pocket uses a small gray D-ring handle to release your weights. We found, the D-ring handle could come loose during use. If that happened, you might not be able to drop your weights quickly in an emergency.

Of the 3298 pairs of Monorail Weight Pockets sold between November 2025 and February 2026, we received two reports of the D-ring handle detaching, and no one was injured. Following our safety-first philosophy, we acted quickly to ensure that the number didn't grow. We worked with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada to issue a voluntary recall, meaning we chose to act ourselves rather than wait to be told.

How we fixed it

We developed a free repair for the D-ring handle, and repair kits are now in the field globally. The fix is quick and simple and can be done by a local authorized SCUBAPRO dealer or by us. We kindly ask that customers not attempt to complete the repair themselves.

Your BCD and the rest of your kit are not affected. This only applies to the weight pocket's D-ring handle, and once it's repaired, you're good to go.

If you still need the repair

If you haven't had your Monorail Weight Pocket repaired yet, all you need to do is register online and choose how you'd like it handled. You can take it to a local authorized SCUBAPRO dealer for free repair, or we'll send you a prepaid shipping label, fix it, and ship it back at no cost to you.

If you take it to a dealer, they'll let you know when the repair part is in and ready. If you're ever unsure where you are in the process, just reach out. We're happy to walk you through it.
