Meet the New S-Tek Technical Diving System
Introducing S-Tek, the revolutionary new technical diving program from SCUBAPRO. Combining premium materials, innovative design, and easy customizations, S-Tek offers unparalleled comfort and performance for technical divers of all levels.
Here’s a closer look at what sets the new S-Tek products apart.
Revolutionary Back Plate Design
The new S-Tek Technical Diving program re-invents the classic back plate and wing system with a clever design focused on adjustability, fit and comfort. Our team of tech divers and engineers designed a 3D formed back plate that mirrors the natural shape of a diver’s back, providing ultimate comfort without sacrificing durability. Fully radiused edges, recessed wingnut sockets, and angled webbing slots create a fully flush surface area when the system is configured, reducing damage to exposure suits. The S-Tek Back Plate is available in stainless steel and aluminum.
The S-Tek Back Plate has also reimagined wingnut attachments. Instead of traditional wingnuts, SCUBAPRO’s patented Ergonuts offer a larger surface area and improved grip to give the system a more secure attachment, while providing easier assembly and disassembly. Traditional wingnuts are still compatible with the system.
S-Tek Pure and Pro Harnesses
Our S-Tek harnesses are available in two options: S-Tek Pure Tek and S-Tek Pro Tek.
The Pure S-Tek Harness features a continuous webbing harness and a stainless-steel waist buckle that provides a custom, individualized fit. The Pure Tek comes with an extender system that allows for easy donning and adjusting, but this is easily removed for divers who prefer a fixed Hogarthian system.
The Pro Tek Harness offers more creature comforts, thanks to the molded Monprene® padding on the shoulders, hips, and back pads. These pads can be added to the Pure Tek Harness, but they come standard with the Pro. This added cushion is great for warm-water divers wearing rash guards or thin wetsuits, and it’s available in a variety of color options. The Pro Tek Harness’s TEK LOK shoulders contribute to a snug, individualized fit, and the system is highly adjustable to accommodate any exposure suit.
Single-Tank Adapter
Both the Pure Tek and Pro Tek Systems can be easily adjusted for single-tank diving. The Single Tank Adapter offers more vertical adjustability and makes it easier to attach the tank using a single cinch band. The wide aluminum adapter is compatible with the 30- and 40-pound donuts to provide additional lift capacity and secure attachment.
Double Tank Configuration
The S-Tek double tank configuration pairs perfectly with the new MK19 1st Stage, and is easy to assemble. The bolt positioning on the back plate makes for easy assembly and secure tightening, and is perfect for divers of any height.
S-Tek Donuts (aka Wings)
Durable S-Tek donuts feature rounded profiles allowing for smooth, controlled air migration and a new best-in-class SCUBAPRO designed K-Style Inflator. The Donuts are available in 3 lift capacities: 30 lbs., 40 lbs., and 60 lbs.
The 40-pound lift option is the perfect universal wing, and can be used for single-tank and double-tank aluminum cylinders. The 40-pound wing is also the most popular for divers using steel tanks and thick wetsuits or drysuits. The 30-pound lift is perfect for divers who exclusively use single tanks, and the 60-pound lift is designed for those diving a double-tank configuration.
