Where are the best dive spots near you?

  • The Tenkiller Scuba Park in Tenkiller State Park
  • Strayhorn Landing
  • Crappie Point
  • Bluff View

All are easy, shore-diving favorite spots within a 10 minute drive of Gene's Aqua Pro on the south end of Lake Tenkiller

What would you see at the dive site?

  • The Tenkiller scuba park has several boats, a plane, a bus, a helicopter and a monument or two to find.  When we navigate it in one go, we call it the Grand Tour. Crappie Point and Bluff View include a few platforms, a car, a boat, and great natural bluffs.

When is the best time to dive?

  • Early morning diving is great because the lake is the most peaceful.  We dive year-round, but late summer into fall is typically the best visibility, some times as good as 20 feet in September and October

Recommended gear for the dive?

  • Depends on how warm or cold natured you are, but most divers prefer a 5 mm wetsuit if you're going below 50' due to thermoclines.  Many are comfortable in 3 mm's as well.  You'll always want a light for the best experience - sometimes it's dark but with a light the vis is great.

How do you get to the dive site?

  • We are all about shore dives. If you have a boat, we can point out some good boat-access sites as well.

What is the dive depth and visibility like?

  • We typically stay above 70' - most of the scuba park attractions are at 60' or above. Visibility can differ dramatically based on where you're diving and depth. This summer, we're fluctuating between 5-10' with a light in the more popular sites.

How many dives a day can be done?

  • How many do you want to make? Because Lake Tenkiller dives rarely go below 70 or 80', you can easily make 3 nice long dives in a day with the aid of a computer.

Who takes the divers out?

  • We have awesome PADI Dive Masters willing to take folks out for a dives, as well as plenty of loyal, fun, friendly "regulars" around most weekends that we're happy to plug new local divers in with.
