Where are the best dive spots near you?

• We like to go to Monterey, either Breakwater or Del Monte.

What would you see at the dive site(s)?

• Different variety of nudibranchs, starfish, sea lions, harbor seals, kelp, crabs, sand dollars, octopus, thornback shark, mola mola and skeleton shrimp.

When is the best time to go?

• AM because the winds pick up in the afternoon.  All year-round.

Recommended gear for the dive? 

• Drysuit, cold water diving kits

How do you get to the dive site?

• We shore dive.

What is the dive depth and visibility like?

• 0-40ft., 0-50ft.

How many dives a day can be done?

• Average is 2-4 dives a day, weather dependent

Who takes the divers out?

• Divers can go out and explore on their own.  If they wish to learn more about the specifics of the diving area and the critters, we recommend hiring one of amazing dive guides for a private dive tour.

How do divers sign up or learn more?

• Besides classes, we have a dive club that dives once a month.  Meetings are at the store on the third Tuesday of the month and they dive the following Saturday.  Anyone can join us to dive, even if you don’t have a buddy.  We typically have over 30 people show up.  Contact the store and ask for Steven or Bonnie for more information.
