Which is the best diving spot near you?
- The Echinger Weiher north of Munich. The pond was created during the construction of the A92 motorway in 1965. The Echinger Weiher is a quarry pond that is fed by its several groundwater sources.
What is there? What is special to experience there?
- A special experience is the underwater world, which is characterized by various water plants in the shore area. They grow over a meter tall there and provide protection and cover for various species of fish. The colors of the plants range from bright green to strong red. On sunny days and depending on the position of the sun and visibility, you can clearly see the trees and bushes under the water.
Its uneven bottom is mostly overgrown with seaweed and alternates with vacancies. You will also find one or the other ditches that you can follow and get a different impression.
In some of these depressions, a layer of a sulfur compound forms when plant residues rot. One gets the impression that it could be milk. A special highlight is our alien figure "Oskar" which is located in one of these depressions and is always worth a visit.
In addition, you will find various types of fish in the Echinger Weiher, such as pike, carp, perch, eel, rudd, roach, mildew, etc. Our trusting pike are something special and they are also happy to accompany you.
