Which is the best diving spot near you?

  • "Haustein" & "Prelle"

  • The quarry lake "Haustein" in the TAUCHCENTER STEINA, not far from Dresden, located in West Lusatia.

  • In the neighboring village you will find another quarry lake "Prelle".

What is there? What is special to experience there?

  • Diving like on vacation and staying overnight at your own campsite.
  • You will encounter carts and tools, and a disused Elbe ferry is also waiting for visitors.
  • The faithful residents are waiting behind steep walls, plateaus and niches: pike, carp, perch, rudd, tench, mustache and much more.
  • In spring, common toads are drawn to the water; after that, thousands of tadpoles are on the move….

When is the best time to dive there?

  • Diving is mainly at the weekends, starting at 10:00 a.m.
  • If you would like to use an individual time, please contact us:  www.auchcenter-steina.de

What equipment do you recommend for the dive?

  • Dry suit diving is beneficial all year round. In the period May to September, a semi-dry suit with an ice vest is sometimes sufficient; at least with a hood.

How to get to the dive spot?

  • The quarry lakes are remote, embedded in nature, surrounded by forest areas. The access roads are well developed for those arriving by car, caravan or mobile home, and there are parking spaces right by the lake. Divers have the right of way here!

Would you recommend a guide?

  • After a detailed briefing, you can explore them independently. A guide is not necessary, but can be booked.

What courses can I do with you? How can the diver best contact you?
