When SCUBAPRO invented the stabilizing jacket BCD, it was a complete evolution in buoyancy control. Special internal passages let air flow through the jacket and collect at whatever point of the jacket was highest. Suddenly, instead of a static buoyancy device that made you fight to face the proper direction, divers could experience a stable ride underwater and a smooth face-up floating experience on the surface.
