An Interview with Amira
Why did you decide to take the giant stride into the oceans?
I took the giant stride into the oceans because it allowed me to conquer my biggest fear. Overcoming my fear opened up a whole new world of exploration and adventure for me. Now, it’s something I love doing as it brings joy, a sense of accomplishment, and a deep connection with the beauty of the underwater world.
How has diving changed your life?
Diving has profoundly changed my life by fostering a deep appreciation for nature’s wonders. It has taught me patience, discipline, and the importance of environmental conservation. Beyond the physical skills, diving has provided me with a unique perspective and a scene of tranquility, influencing how I approach challenges and cherish the beauty of the underwater world.
What kind of diving do you like to do?
I particularly enjoy diving at coral reef sites teeming with marine life. The vibrant colors, diverse ecosystems, and the opportunity to encounter fascinating sea creatures make it a truly enriching experience for me. Exploring coral reefs contributes to my passion for marine conservation.
Tell us about one of the most amazing experiences you have had underwater?
One of the most exhilarating experiences underwater was in Galapagos. The dynamic currents, the surrounding marine life, including sharks, moray eels, sea iguanas - truly inspiring. It was a thrilling adventure that showcased the extraordinary biodiversity of the Galapagos.
Where are some of your favorite places underwater?
I am really addicted to diving in the Red Sea, Egypt. This is the place I keep returning to and it’s always a great experience.
What is your advice to someone considering diving?
Be careful - it’s addicting!
Embrace the unknown with an open mind and heart. Pick carefully where to get the Open Water course, learn essential skills and safety measures. Start in a calm, controlled environment to build confidence and gradually explore different underwater landscapes. Respect marine life!
What would you tell people about the oceans?
Explore responsibly, appreciate the fragile ecosystems and enjoy the underwater world!
What does diving mean to you?
Absolute joy - an immersive escape into a world of serenity and awe, where every descend feels like a magical journey.

My Yulex wetsuit - comfortable no matter the depth.
