- The Farne Islands to dive with Grey Seals, wrecks and an abundance of life.
What would you see at the dive site(s)?
- At the Farne Islands the main attraction is the 3000+ Grey seal colony. They are resident all year and can be very playful. There are some excellent wall dives covered with Dead Men’s Fingers, nudibranchs, Gobi’s and Crustaceans. There are a lot of wrecks around the islands, 7 boilers can be found at the Knifestone alone.
When is the best time to go?
- The best season for the Farne Islands is August to late November, seals are most interactive at that time.
Recommended gear for the dive?
- Drysuit is best as the water rarely gets over 13OC. Some divers use a good wetsuit in the summer when the air is warm but most use drysuits.
How do you get to the dive site?
The Farne Islands are reached by boat which leaves from Seahouses harbour. There is ample parking on the harbour so its not too far to carry your gear.

Who takes the divers out?
We use Billy Sheil’s boats as he has 4 dive boats all with lifts. They have over 80 years of experience of the islands so get the divers in the right spot every time. Every trip booked in advance has a dive guide onboard to make sure the divers get the best out of the dive.
